Activity-summer in Eisacktal Valley

Before in autumn begins the harvest season in Eisacktal Valley, in summer all doors for an active holiday stands open.

For whom like it relaxing we recommend a walking-tour on the Chestnut-Trail through cozy villages or to the amazing monastery Säben in Klausen and adventurist however can jump in the riffles of Eisack river to do rafting. Who loves mountains and hiking, Eisacktal Valley is also the right choice: here you can find tours en mass.

Very beautiful hiking-tours are the ones to Rodenecker Alm-alpine pasture or to Gilfenklamm gorge near Sterzing. Very recommendable is also the cycling route from Brenner to Brixen and Bozen or the mountain bike trails in the holiday-area of Gitschberg-Jochtal.

In the holiday-area of Gitschberg-Jochtal thanks to the "Almencard" you can use in the summer month the cable cars and the public transport with reduced prices, so you really can leave your car at home.

In 2008 also Pope Benedikt XIV spends his holidays in Eisacktal Valley, in detail in Brixen. From the end of July till the middle of August the leader of catholic-church will visit a lot of sights in South Tyrol and he will hold some public masses at the Dome-square in Brixen.
