Between spring and autumn one culinary treat follows another: the Isarco Valley Fine Cuisine starts things off in March. In May Brixen revolves around Wine. Street kitchens with their distinctive atmosphere typify summer evenings in the Isarco Valley. The Joghurt Days in July and the Dumpling Days in September turn Sterzing into a Mecca for gourmets. October is full of delicious experiences with the bread and strudel market in Brixen waking up the taste buds. If you’re looking for the high spots then the Speck Feast in Villnöss, with its speciality ham and bacon, and the “Sunnseitn Apple Week” in Natz-Schabs are what you want. During the hiking season in late autumn Brixen’s “Kuchlkirchtig” (a gastronomic hike) takes place. The end of October and beginning of November is taken up with the chestnut during the Chestnut Speciality Weeks and the “Keschtnigl” in Feldthurns.
The grand finale is the Törggelen when, from October to the middle of November the vintners cottages open up their doors for tastings of the new wine.
